When problems accumulated, and she could not withstand, she made up her mind to quit the marriage. Her save had gone to testify in a court of law (Henrik 36). The husband does not influence her to continue stay ing in the marriage when she thought it was not honorable to continue staying in that marriage. Wigands daughter also represents the characteristics of the American woman today. When she learns of some footsteps during the night, she informs her father immediately. This indicates that she decides independently on what to do without consulting.
